TLC
Values and Beliefs that I Developed When I Was 11 Years Old Quite Probably Because I Listened Obsessively to TLC’s “Ooooh…on the TLC Tip”:
- Friends are important
- Honesty and openness are important
- Sex is fun
- Safe sex is really important
- Don’t compromise who you are (being weird and goofy is totally cool!)
- Don’t accept double standards and mistreatment
- Women are quite capable of being happy and self-sufficient without the aid of men (is this the root of Tara “I can do it I can do it!” Kershner? Hmm…)
- It’s important to be aware that we still live in a patriarchal society while staying optimistic for the future

Something you might have learned from listening to later TLC:
“If you’ve got a car, and you’re walking,” you are a “Scrub.”

Haha, thankfully I never got past Crazy Sexy Cool…which was not at all moralistic or very good.
