Critique III

Since Christians are obsessed with the divinity of work (i.e. the Protestant Work Ethic), wouldn’t the devil be lazy? “Work like the devil” is used synonymously with ‘to work fervently, with haste, or to the extreme!’ That doesn’t make sense! If you wanted to “work like the devil” you’d probably sit around a fire-pool drinking fire-lemonade and manipulate others into doing your work for you. This phrase LOSES.

That ol’ debbel is always busy, trying to get folks to be lazy. If they’re not working, then that crafty Prince O’ Darkness can work his way with their inner thoughts, tempting them to do stuff they shouldn’t oughta do. It’s good ol’ Jehovah who’s the lazy one, always sitting around basking in his own glory and letting those kiss-up angels sing his praises.
